Partscaster Build Workshop

Two bench days building a partscaster, with the parts and wiring plan settled before we start.

A partscaster on the bench during a workshop build.

This is for people who want more than parts assembly.

Before the bench days begin, we use a one-hour consult to choose the body, neck, hardware, electronics, and wiring plan so the build starts in the right place.

At the bench, the work moves from selection and assembly into soldering, fretwork, setup, and final feel. The useful question is not whether the parts fit together. It is whether the finished guitar plays like one instrument.

At the bench

What we cover

  • Choosing parts for tone, feel, reliability, and visual direction.
  • Pickup and wiring decisions, including soldered or solderless harness options.
  • Fret leveling, crowning, and the setup work that makes the guitar feel finished.
  • How the guitar changes when those decisions work together or fight each other.

Outcome

What you leave with

  • A completed partscaster built to your own direction.
  • A clearer eye for matching components to the result you want.
  • A better understanding of wiring, fretwork, and final setup.
  • A stronger basis for the next build after this one.
